Braselton, GA — October 30, 2019 — Financial Independence Group, LLC (FIG), a leading field marketing organization, is pleased to announce that Chief Operating Officer, Brian Williams, has been awarded the 2019 Bo Johnson Spirit Award for Lifetime Achievement from the National Association for Fixed Annuities (NAFA).
The Bo Johnson Spirit Award is an exceptional honor that recognizes individuals for the positive and lasting impact they make on the fixed annuity industry. Award winners serve as an inspiration to others, contribute to their communities, are ethical and dedicated to improving the marketplace, and helps advance fixed annuity products.

In addition to his annuity leadership and innovative strategies, Williams has long been committed to educating agents and financial professionals about the value found in fixed annuity products. In his role at FIG, Brian is responsible for the overall business operations and works to integrate internal processes to maximize the effectiveness offered to partnered independent financial professionals. He also is the managing partner of Alphastar Capital Management, an SEC-registered investment advisory firm, and a partner in Barnabas Capital, a wholesale broker-dealer.
Brian has also served on various industry committees and advisory boards, such as the Board of Directors for NAFA and the Leadership Council for Great American Insurance Group.
About the Bo Johnson Spirit Award for Lifetime Achievement
NAFA’s Insurance Marketing Advisory Council (IMAC) established the award in honor of Bo Johnson. Bo was well known for his energy, enthusiasm, and love for the fixed annuity industry. As a proud member of NAFA, Bo served on the board for several years and was the original IMAC chair. His life was cut much too short when he died in 2009 after a courageous fight with cancer. He exhibited the attributes outlined in the award created in his name and left a very positive and lasting imprint on the annuity industry.
